both dawson's mother and father were born and raised in california, and has always had a lot of money, which he has been able to live off for basically his entire life. his parents were always busy when he was a kid (still are even now), meaning every weekend dawson’s house was the place to be for partying. he had never had many responsibilities, but had part time jobs here and there whenever he was bored. his love was bought by his parents, to the point in which the moment he sparked interest in music at age 13, his parents paid to have a makeshift recording studio put into an outbuilding for him to mess around with. though they thought it was going to be a quick hobby, it actually turned into quite the passion for the boy, and ultimately what he decided to pursue in life. it wasn't hard, his family had the connections and opportunities, and quickly he found himself opening for pretty well known people and getting his name out there. his profession didn't stop the partying, if anything it only made things worse. with more opportunities and parties, he spiraled further and further until his manager started to notice. before long, he was in the middle of an intervention, and his manager sent him to a rehab facility to work through everything that he was going through. but the one thing that dawson didn't do was therapy. he didn't want help, didn't ask for it, and therefore wasn't going to do it. as soon as it got to actually opening up and trying to get to the bottom of things, dawson did everything in his power to be removed from the facility, quickly managing to do just that and come right back "good as new."

dawson has a bit of trouble with the ability to attach himself to anyone, and along with his short temper, his relationships with really anybody have been few and far between. he of course has friends, mostly his fraternity brothers and teammates, but he keeps even most of them at arms length for the most part, and the select few that are a bit closer to him are only because they forced themselves in for his own good.

on the surface, dawson comes off self-centered and arrogant. he has moments when he's smooth, charming, and hilarious. he simply says and does whatever he wants to, because in his mind his actions don't really have consequences. a very typical frat boy type. impulsive, hot headed, always down for a good time, but secretly harbors a desire for something that ultimately distracts him from the anxiety and resentment he has from his family and the expectations they have for him.

-childhood friends
-family friends (think bougie rich kid friends)
-best friends
-ex-friends (really bad? or just disconnected?)
-party plugs, we need it
-people who are only friends with him for the parties and drugs and clout
-bad influences (whenever he thinks of taking the better option, they peer pressure him into doing the bad and "more fun" thing)
-good influences (those that see him making shitty decisions and try to make him see what he's doing)

-exes that are now friends (maybe friends -> exes -> friends)
-the one ex that actually turned out to be a better friend and there for him when he really needs someone
-exes that h a t e each other (most likely he got distant/bored or cheated or a mix of both)
